With reference to my confidential

despatch of the 16th of December, 1929, on the

subject of Trade Loan, I have the honour to

inform Your Lordship that notice has been given

to the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation

in Hong Kong for a further repay ent of £40,000 on the 17th of February, 1970, thus reducing this

Government's sterling liability to £220,000.
